Title: Music Thread 2: Electric Boogaloo
Post by: SovietSeagull on December 29, 2016, 02:55:06 am
Forums are dead as ****. You're a boring lot of bastards.
Music tastes are like arseholes. Everyone has one. Post yours.
Reccomended post- Post 2 songs you've been listening to recently. Preferrably from different genres and from different bands. Maybe write a bit about them.
Review other people's **** taste instead of just posting and not listening to the music people post.

Honne-Good Together. Electro-Soul.
https://youtu.be/YH3ArVgkw6I
Duo from London. **** love this song. Avid fan of Funk, soul and disco. This song seems to combine the three. They put on an amazing liveset. Look up their mahogany sessions. They manage to get a chior in on this one. Takes it through the roof.

Portugal. The Man. - Noise Pollution. Psychedelic Rock.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kOts-yZsu8A
Portugal are some indie band from Alaska. Favourite band of mine for a good few years now. Iso introduced me with their "Sea of air" was instantly blown away .  I'd cut my dick off to be cool as Gourley. Version A of this song, Also known as the "french as f u c k version" you'll probably see why.

Did someone say musical taste

Aesop Rock - Dorks - Rap
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kqw9iv1QyV4
Got introduced to Aesop Rock through Gate, probably my favorite rapper outside of Killer Mike and El-P's "Run The Jewels" duo. The biggest vocabulary out of any rapper I've heard, pretty impressive.

Niko - Night of Fire - Eurobeat
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRbhLtjOiRc
Eurobeat is a meme genre for some people but I genuinely like it. Not sure how to describe it outside of it being the theme of "gotta go fast tokyo drift". One of the two songs chosen for most drifting memes, other being Deja Vu.

Honne-Good Together. Electro-Soul.

Already listened to PTM, everyone who speaks to me about music knows how much I sperg about them. Honne is pretty good, like damn dude, I need to start getting into this kind of stuff, electro-soul.

Aesop rock is good. Prefer rings and none shall pass.
I'm into slower music. Night of fire is a good song for driving games and **** obviously but for me it's a bit too fast and in your face to listen to just normally.

As for electro-soul it's a revival of soul. Obviously regular soul sounds a tad different cause it's not electronic. Have a listen. See what you think. I've not really got any other electro soul stuff to reccomend.

Psychedelic rock is god tier. It's starting to merge into some really **** wierd subgenre of garage if you follow the thread far enough. See below. By a chillean rock band. Psychedelic Garage. Really 60s sounding. Listen to their album "Thru me again" and pretend you're on heroin. You could imagine yourself in a vietnam hotel room with this playing as you go through a losing your mind montage at the start of apocalypse now.

Some rap, seeing as you seem to like it.

What I've been mostly listening to recently is stuff like this, however.

I'll post some more later.

Not a fan of that royal blood song. He ends all his words with an exhale on the chorus and it disturbs me greatly.
If you like Ski Mask The Slump God you'd probably like Suicideboys

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3uGWtL-17y0
Same sort of shouty delivery. I have a few of their songs on my phone but I don't really like listening to their stuff all the time. Too shouty, funnily enough. Sometimes at the gym I listen to it.
It's pretty fu cking edgy though.
Been listening to this alot lately.

The Ohmys are good. Like chance as well. This was before he started singing about god in every **** song. His next album is going to be some hymn book sh it watch this.

Been into Mac Demarco Recently. Think he's a ploy to make you smoke viceroy fags.

Scenery is a great album. Listened to it recently. Really easy to just leave on.

It's odd. I like it though. Some of young fathers' music were in trainspotting 2. Great film.

Pretty good.
Don't like the MIDI sounding sort of deal to it.
Reminds me of breakbot.
